What Keeps Us Inspired

Rangakarmee is a tradition, a culture, a movement. The historical repertoire founded by Smt. Usha Ganguli and launched in January 1976 in Kolkata, continues to spearhead the Hindi theatre space in Kolkata. Rangakarmee, under the aegis of proficient theatre personality Usha Ganguli, embarked on a mission to break all barriers and reach out to the audience of West Bengal, pan-India and beyond boundaries. To spread Rangakarmee’s message, Usha Ganguli created a unique language and style of communication, solely dependent on theatre, that cut across languages spoken by different communities in India and worldwide.

Creative Work Studio

Creative Work Studio

“Theatre means adaan-pradaan, togetherness. I dream of a place where all theatre groups and all cultural groups can come together and work. Usha-di too thought like this, hence, the Studio Theatre at Rangakarmee was formed. As Usha Ganguli desired to do, now we will continue to do the work of Studio Theatre with the help of our friends of Rangakarmee in West Bengal and all over India,”

Mrs. Tripty Mitra, Director, Rangakarmee
